Our Culture

Here in Wuhu we enjoy a diverse culture as a result of our rich history and global influence. Visitors from around the world flock to the island to enjoy our wide variety of sporting activites and relax in our stunning environment. Wuhu Island's Sugarsand beach is among the cleanest in the world. Wuhu's location means that the weather is desirable all year round.

Wuhu boasts some of the best sporting facilities in the region, including bowling alleys, a golf course and tennis courts. We even have a small fleet of aircraft for visitors to fly! Our boxing club is coached by the world-renowned Matt, whose skill is legendary. Wuhu Island has also hosted motorsports events on its adrenaline inducing roads and tracks. Most of the residents travel by bike however, and huge cycling races are held regularly.

Our resident Miis come from a wide variety of ethnic backgrounds. Some are directly descended from the ancient inhabitants of the island, while many are of Japanese descent dating back to the Second World War, which is reflected in their continued usage of Japanese names. Many tourists choose to become residents after their initial visit after their amazement by the quality of life enjoyed here.
